"To love life is to love time. Time is the stuff life is made of." --Benjamin
Franklin
The passing of time has always fascinated me. The way it inches along when
you're a child and the way it zooms by as you get older. I have always loved
stories about time travel. I've logged many hours reading tips on better ways
to manage time, and spent lots on anything to do with planning and organizing.
I even won the "Always On Time" award my freshman year in college from my
sorority.
What is it about time that's so
fascinating? In our office we're always focused on it. Here are my top 5 TRC
Staffing OKC rules on time:
1. HAVE A PLAN.
Just today I interviewed a wonderful medical
billing candidate. She had the exact experience my client needed. Before
she left our office we had her scheduled to meet with our client. She knew as
she walked out our door she came to a place where we are all working together
and NOT wasting her time.
2. ASK THE IMPORTANT
QUESTIONS.
We ask ourselves BEFORE we schedule new appointments, "Can we help
this candidate?" We survey our clients, "Is it better to call you, email or
text?" When phoning we ask, "Did I catch you at a good time?"
3. LISTEN CLOSELY.
Taking notes and reflecting back to the other person what you heard can save lots of headaches and misunderstandings down the road.
4. IMAGINE HOW THE OTHER PERSON FEELS.
When our client needs help, finding the right person in
time is crucial. Showing others that we understand their concerns leads to a
better working relationship.
5. ACTION.
Take action as soon as the order is received or the
resume is reviewed. Follow through with promises. Stay on top of emails.
Update all parties involved. Try to anticipate what the next step is, before
anyone else does!
