The headline of this week's People Magazine asks the question:
What Went Wrong? Another celebrity couple has broken-up. Why is this news? Why do we care? It seems we all love to look into the lives of
celebrities and if there is drama, we are eternally
fascinated.
But what if the break-up is a
good thing? What if John Mayer always left toothpaste in the sink, or Katy Perry never did her share of the laundry? What if they got on each others nerves or were jealous of the time they spent with their friends? What if they are happier apart? Why isn't the title: What Went Right?
In the business of staffing, we like to think of ourselves as match-makers. Our goal is to find the right employee just the right company and vice-versa.
When speaking with potential candidates, one of the most important things we ask in the interview is: "Why did you leave your previous position?" This is the
equivalent to the question "What Went Wrong?". Maybe the person didn't like the over-time because she couldn't go to her son's soccer games. Maybe he was laid off. Maybe school became the priority. Maybe they felt under-appreciated or over-looked.
Hopefully, Katy and John will apply what they've learned towards their next relationship. (If they don't, I'm sure the tabloids will be happy.)
If you need a new "working relationship", give us a call. We pride ourselves in making sure your next choice is a better match than the last. 405-842-6300.
